Where should I start planning my wedding?

In this article, you’ll discover some of my tips to start planning your own wedding.

First off, it’s key to have an open conversation about each other’s beliefs:

According to your beliefs, what kind of wedding would you like to plan for?

We would like you consider the different kinds of ceremonies that you should know of. Discover each magical and sophisticated way of celebrating your wedding.

Religious:

This kind of ceremony is the most traditional around the world; the Religious Wedding is usually performed within important religious centers led by important ministers of each religion.

Symbolic/Spiritual:

This kind of celebration doesn’t stick to the traditional religious parameters as it is highly customized, modified and adapted to the couple’s own rituals, without leaving the spiritual love component behind. On a wide array of options, the Spiritual or Symbolic Celebration covers weddings from a multicultural celebration, all the way to a traditional Mayan Ritual; this wedding will entail the couple’s unique style and purpose that they wish upon their Big Day.

Civil:

When it becomes to legally tying the knot, your Civil Ceremony doesn’t have to be in a City Hall; remember you’re able to say “Yes” in any place of your liking. Although, keep in mind that every state has its own set of rules when it comes to applying for a marriage license, so make sure to check first. Keep an eye out for fees, required documentation, and waiting periods, too.

First off: The Date

Before the fun starts, aka shopping, set a date and place in which your celebration will take place. Once that’s set, define the wedding’s style and aesthetic to start adventuring into the specifications of your wedding.

If you have a high preference for outdoor celebrations or beach setups, you should consider that the raining season usually takes place during the months of June and July, while hurricane season cover the months of September and October. If your desired set date falls into any of these two climate events, design a backup plan in case the weather might not be the best on your Big Day. Have an open communication channel with your Wedding Planner to forecast any sudden change of plans in order to keep the magic of your evening alive.

Now, off to backbone of the wedding itself: establishing a budget.

This is one of the most important pillars in which you and your “soon-to-be” will anchor upon to take decisions on your Big Day. Keep in mind that 40% of newlyweds spend more money than what they projected in their initial budget, while only 4% of honeymooners were able to remain below their expected budget.

To get an accurate budget, consider every single detail that you’d want to include in your celebration. These tips will help you navigate the easy road towards Planning your Wedding.

Start off by making a guest list as detailed as possible.
Choose on what season of the year would you like the celebration to take place.
Make a list of all the details, features and parts of the wedding that are a definite MUST and the ones that you feel flexible about.

Don’t ever forget the memories: the photographer.

Look out for a photographer or content creator as soon as you have a set date for your wedding. Write down the kind of aesthetic, sets and backgrounds in which you’d like your wedding snapshots to revolve around: come forward to your cameraman with this ideas. Remember, he’s the expert.
